Following up on SOS messages put out on Twitter, Newslaundry visited two private hospitals in #Gorakhpur as well as the BRD Medical College, the city's largest medical facility, and found that they were running out of not only #oxygen but even essential medicines.
At BRD Medical College, so heavy is the rush of #Covid patients and so limited the capacity and resources that there is always a queue of families waiting for a bed. Apart from Gorakhpur, a good number of patients come from the neighbouring districts of Deoria and Kushinagar, but few get admitted.
